About Brian Keats
Brian is a Mechanical Engineer with 15 years of experience in new product introduction, all in the commercial space sector. He started his career as a postdoctoral fellow at COMDEV (later bought by Honeywell) where he worked on developing tunable RF filters, temperature compensated filters, and RF switches. Starting in 2018, Brian has worked as an opto-mechanical engineer primarily working on optical inter-satellite communication terminals. He joined Wyvern in 2023 to help support opto-mechanical design, thermal analysis, and telescope assembly integration and test. After completing his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with an option in Mechatronics, Brian received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering all from the University of Waterloo. In his free time, Brian enjoys rock climbing, and just about anything else that involves spending time outdoors.
