Background
About Brian Kipchumba
I am a strategic Communications Professional with 3+ years of experience crafting compelling narratives, managing digital campaigns, and producing high-impact content for impactful organizations. I have had the privilege of supporting communications and strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the goal of providing dignified work for 30 million African youth with the Mastercard Foundation—the second-largest Non-Profit Organization in the world. I have a background in Social Sciences from Glasgow Caledonian University. I also serve as a board member for Jabulani Youth for Transformation, a youth-led organization based in Kisumu. At the core of what I do is a commitment to leaving a lasting impact through my words and actions in every space I enter. My goal is to empower African youth to reach their highest potential, while also finding and seeing myself in their stories. Through purposeful action, I strive to design and support sustainable solutions that address the continent’s most pressing challenges. I believe that true progress emerges from empowering local communities, fostering innovation, and creating meaningful opportunities for Africa’s youth. What Drives Me- The need to tell authentic stories about the African continent - The urge to champion initiatives that create dignified work for Africa’s youth - The curiosity to explore new horizons, learn from diverse cultures, and give back to my community Drawing on my experience in research, international development, community engagement, and storytelling, I seek to tell authentic African stories and champion spaces that elevate youth voices. Through my words and actions, I aim to inspire change, connect people, and contribute to building a more inclusive and youth-friendly world. Beyond work, I enjoy travelling to new destinations, immersing myself in new cultures, reading, engaging in discussions about politics (within and beyond Africa), swimming, and lately—playing golf, albeit as a beginner. Oh, and I occasionally try new recipes too! Let’s connect if you’re passionate about youth-led change, telling stories, or building Africa’s future! Email: briankipchumba11321@gmail.com
