About Brian Kramer

My past experiences have prepared me well for a variety of development and administrative duties. Currently, I am serving as Community Services Coordinator for Project NOW, a Community Action Agency in Rock Island, Illinois. This entails oversight of the local LIHEAP energy assistance program and supervising over 25 employees. This position is rewarding in that I am directly helping individuals with assistance for their heating bills. In the current year my program has distributed $6.1 million and helped around 4500 households in Rock Island, Henry, and Mercer counties. Before this opportunity, I was a District Representative for Congressman Dave Loebsack (IA-2). This opportunity placed me as the point of contract for the Congressman's office in Scott and Clinton counties. This meant being a strong advocate for the Congressman's agenda when needed and also responsibly representing the Congressman at public functions. This role also meant that I needed to build strong relationships with representatives of local government, the business community, and non-governmental agencies. As individuals will note, I have a wide variety of experiences beyond political that touch on social services, fundraising, and public service. Its these experiences that show that I take initiative, that I am able to work independently, and that I am committed to the institution that I represent. Its these experiences that also make me viable candidates for roles in administration, project management, development, or communications.
