Background

About Brian L. Hanson

I specialize in the intellectual and cultural history of late medieval and early modern England with special attention to religion. My research interests include the intersection of commonwealth ideology with evangelical theology and piety in Tudor England. My current research explores political rebellion and resistance among the commons, political sermons, prophecy, and household piety. I am dedicated to leading my students to critical thinking, writing, and reading skills. My qualifications, education, and experiences are diverse and demonstrate my abilities to work in a variety of educational settings. I am also an active choral composer with over twenty works published by Choristers Guild and Concordia Publishing House, several Editors' Choice selections by JW Pepper, and one John Ness Beck Foundation Award (2009).
