Since I started working at the young age of 16, I have always strived to give my best at any position or role I was given. Starting my career in sales seemed like a mismatch at first given my love to work with my hands. However, I immediately realized the opportunity it presented which taught me to understand the importance of the product I was selling. It also taught me interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills and when working on commission, your work ethic determines the outcome of your paycheck. After several years in many different sales positions, I wanted a new challenge. I landed on a gold mine when I attended my first Procurement workshop and saw the need to combine my knowledge of people and systems with my desire for problem-solving. Spearheading the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes. Being a supply chain and logistics expert who specializes in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required by the company while ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management have all been areas which I have excelled in and continue to do so. It’s been a fun and exciting journey in my career and that is because life has always taught me to take a leap whether or not it is risky.
