About Brian McGrath

I develop resources and partnerships to advance the mission of organizations and causes that make a difference. I relish connecting individuals with big ideas to each other so together we can maximize impact for people and their communities. I have been leading initiatives to increase entrepreneurship and innovation in the education marketplace, helping to create more high-quality options and relevant learning opportunities for students. I also lead the work that aligns EdChoice’s four program teams—Policy Advocacy, Research, Training, and Outreach—in their shared mission to promote educational freedom for all children. With over 20 years of experience in the school choice movement, I have worn many hats, including policy advocate, coalition builder, thought leader convener and development officer. I also served as a senior staff member and advisor to Indiana Governors Mitch Daniels and Eric Holcomb. I am married to Leah McGrath, and we have three sons and a dog. I enjoy spending time with my family—especially grilling out and listening to all kinds of music. As a devoted fan of college sports, I cheer for the Penn State Nittany Lions football and wrestling teams and the Indiana Hoosiers basketball squad. I wave my “terrible towel” for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I never miss the Indy 500 with family and friends. I love spending time outdoors, have a great interest in history, and I appreciate a good podcast.
