About Brian Medd

On taking the easy path – "I learned my stuff by pushing on pull doors" – Retired General Rick Hillier. I work hard to understand why things are the way they are. Yes, it can be disruptive, but I have made a practice of turning that disruption into focused strategy and results. I have developed a habit of delivering strong savings to my business partners and build contracts that meet business objectives."Pushing on the pull doors" is a metaphor for how I approach simplifying problem solving with both my internal teams and my external vendor partners. I strive to create the kind of commitment from my people that Gen(retired) Hillier brought out – right from the ground level up. Creating steadfast vision and sticking to my principles have been my guidance through tough decisions and crossroads within my own success. It all comes down to these for me- My family is at the root – They energize, motivate and ground me all at the same time- When the chaos comes out – I embody the simple plan to win- When the chaos comes out – I trust my team with their ideas towards the shared end-state (sometimes the plan CAN be the end-state)- I love gadgetry – Keeping up on IT and Strategic Sourcing trends is key for me- I lead with passion – passion for my people and as much support towards their goals as possible (and then some)- I love to win, and learn from loss and the wins.
