During my tenure at Umicore, I have progressively advanced through various roles, gaining a comprehensive understanding of automation and electro-technologies. In my current role as an Automation Technician, which I have held since March 2021, I am responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems to enhance production efficiency and reliability. My responsibilities include programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), developing HMI (Human-Machine Interface) solutions, and integrating automation equipment with existing systems. I work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that automation solutions meet both technical specifications and production goals. My role also involves conducting regular maintenance checks and updates to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Prior to this, I served as an Electro Technician from May 2017 to March 2021. In this position, I was instrumental in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment. My duties included performing detailed inspections, diagnosing electrical issues, and implementing effective solutions. I also engaged in system upgrades and modifications to enhance performance and safety standards. My journey at Umicore began with a Co-op position as an Electro Technician from January 2016 to December 2016. This foundational role provided me with hands-on experience in electrical systems, contributing to my technical proficiency and understanding of industry practices. Overall, my experience at Umicore has equipped me with a solid technical foundation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies in a dynamic industrial environment.
