About Brian Mowat

I'm hugely passionate about the future of music performance in virtual reality. I'm creating original music and videos in virtual reality with live motion capture performances, custom avatars and worlds, and creating a community spotlight for other innovators in the VR music scene. After graduating Berklee College of Music studying Electronic Production and Design, I started working for software security company Checkmarx, where I provided voice over and video editing for their video tutorials. During the 4 years I was there, I took on freelance video game and interactive music media composition projects such as interactive music for picture books at Novel Effect, music, sound effects, and level design for GunDrill, music for Space Cat 9 and Rave Gazebo. In my last year at Checkmarx, I was able to use my unique blend of creative and technical skills when I moved to the marketing department where I storyboarded and edited videos, designed audio, hosted live video interviews at our booth and motion graphics and managed an agency who created the motion graphics we incorporated into the videos.
