Background
About Brian Notosubagyo
Brief Bio:I am a first generation recent graduate. My interests include: Data visualization and simulation via video game engines, virtual production, and mixed media pipelines. I'm very interested in exploring the areas where art and technology intersect to convey abstract ideas to a broader audience.I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2015 with a double major in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Shortly after, the first job I had was for an avionics company called Gogo Inflight Internet.I've had the pleasure of developing a concept from inception to full production. I have experience working with various airlines from different countries. I enjoy being in prototype environments where I can see my design concept come to life and make quick decisions with my teammates on challenging problems in short time spans as well as working face to face with airline customers and mechanics to get the job done. This was a proving ground to me as a working engineer and then I began exploring other avenues where I could tie my work together with my passions.I earned my Master's Degree in Astronautical Engineering from University of Southern California in 2023 where I was able to merge both my passions in art and engineering. I worked with NASA Langley Research Center to develop a visualization tool in Unreal Engine for simulation data of new rover concepts and Unreal Engine as a virtual lighting testbed to generate synthetic images to train object detection models for In-Space, Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) operations. Was fortunate enough to showcase my work to several conferences and speaking events to talk about blurring the lines of what video games engines are capable of doing.Skillset:CAD: Solidworks, AutoCAD, Creo ParametricAnalysis: LS-DYNAVideo Game Engines/Animation: Unreal Engine, Blender, TouchdesignerSoftware: Python, C++, Matlab, PyTorch, OpenCV
