About Brian Osserman

I am currently doing contract work in the progressive data space. I worked for nearly three years at TargetSmart, doing work ranging from carrying out and analyzing data quality testing, to identifying and taking advantage of underutilized data, to programming and process automation, to designing and implementing best practices for development. I have been interested in computer programming since I was quite young, and pick up new programming languages quickly. I studied computer graphics extensively in college, and have more recently gotten involved with computer vision research as well. My consulting work for Resonai involved graphics and vision as well as mathematics. In 2020 I also did volunteer work on data/analytics projects in connection with political activism. Beyond technical mathematical expertise, my work as a professor required communication skills in the contexts of teaching, mentoring, lecturing and writing, as well as ease with abstract concepts and problem-solving skills (both individual and collaborative) for my research. I also worked extensively in many committees both in the department and at the campus level. I published dozens of research articles in well-regarded journals, and was invited to speak on my research in seminars and conferences across the United States and in many other countries.
