About Brian Paris

For over 15 years I have provided advice and prepared agreements and documents in many areas of Commercial Law and Property Law, including sale and purchase of businesses, retail leasing (for both landlords and tenants), franchising advice, due diligence investigations for the purchase of businesses and property and general contract advice. I have acted for public companies, shopping centre and hotel owners, medical practitioners, accountancy firms, local government and have also represented several leading interstate law firms. Notable projects include due diligence and subsequent acquisition advice and documentation for the purchases of an iconic South Australian food business, several coffee brand businesses and franchises. Additionally, I have prepared international distribution agreements for the wine industry and international intellectual property rights, supply, service and distribution agreements for an international range of toy and stationary products. I also have significant expertise in asset protection and estate planning, including the drafting of wills (both simple and complex - involving discretionary testamentary trusts), Enduring Powers of Attorney and Advance Care Directives and advice concerning the interplay between superannuation and estate planning. I provide advice regarding the administration of deceased estates including the preparation of simple and complex applications for Probate and Letters of Administration.
