About Brian Perry
When I was growing up, all I wanted was to be an astronaut. I never reached the stars but I have explored and discovered more about myself and the space around me. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark forged across this country to find a passage way to the west and throughout my working life I have discovered a whole new me. What I realized about myself was that I am different; I am an adaptive species, constantly moving and always changing with my environment to meet the needs of the day. I have worked in slow paced environments where I had little to no supervision as well as fast paced environments where I worked as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team. Everything from cost accounting on jobs less than a million dollars to cost accounting in a position with five different multi-million dollar projects at once. For one employer I set up, maintained and broke down construction offices in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Mississippi. I have also assisted in cost and materials forecasting in the oil and gas industry. While working on contract at Enbridge I was a liaison between the vendors for the purchasing department to the project management team. I met weekly with the project management for several eastern access projects and kept them informed as to delivery dates, delays and issues with materials ordered. I would then communicate with vendors to expedite or otherwise find another option for meeting project in service deadlines. I also participated in several high level phone calls between engineering, project management and vendors when there were problems with valves, actuators and other materials being manufactured to specifications. From one position to the next I have and will continually evolve and adapt to what my company needs. Every day I endeavor to learn something new to be a better person and offer more to those around me. I love to help people become more than they previously thought possible.
