About Brian Polek

My professional experience has started with a company for over ten years. It began in the mail room and from there worked my way up to becoming a CSR (Customer Service Representative). After several years assisting customers on the phone I received a position as a Training Specialist. Those job duties included training, writing user guides, testing and other misc duties. I then assisted as Help desk and dealt with user issues as well as users access to systems. Lastly and most currently I was a Desktop Support Technician. In that position I assisted remote and in house users, implemented a company wide OS upgrade, performed a detailed inventory of all computer related equipment and assisted with the reclamation of company assets of office closures and moves. Sadly that position along with many others were dissolved after a company buyout occurred. The job that was my second home was no longer there for me so I took a step back to take a breath and look at my options. I could rush into another job full steam ahead and try to fill the void of losing my work home, or I could go back to school and further my education. I decided with the latter and got my AS which expanded my knowledgebase. From there I again was faced with a decision, go for my BS or go back to the work force. This time I choose the work force and started at my new home DealerSocket. This was a good home and a great replacement to the first one that I had lost. I continued to move forward and moved up the ranks to be a supervisor of the team I started at. A great group of individuals some of which I still keep in contact with. Just like the first home, all good things must come to an end. Due to a buyout the company's vision and cultured had shifted to something that did not align with the original that was installed upon me and some of my other co-workers. Though different in culture, I still enjoyed my job and those around me and continued to be the best I could at it. I was then approached with an offer that one could not refuse and I decided to make a change that would expand my knowledge base even further and join a company that was remincient in values as both my other two homes started out as. My journey with that company is still present and on the daily I am expanding my knowledge base and am being challenged which keeps it very very interesting. What does the next page hold for me? Currently the goals that I have are to continue in the IT field and explore the possibilities of learning more about scripting and automation as well as virtual systems
