About Brian Prosser

I have been involved with the practice of underground mine and subsurface ventilation since 1994. I am a Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, Nevada, West Virginia, and Kentucky, and a Qualified Person (QP) for 43-101 studies. I develop ventilation, climatic/thermal, and fire simulation models for mines throughout the world and manage a team of six engineers. I have gained experience in the field of mine ventilation from conducting pressure/quantity surveys at longwall coal operations and multi-level metal mines to detailed analysis of large block cave operations in Chile and Indonesia. I teach three day and two day classes on practical ventilation modeling and planning in addition to writing and presenting papers at symposiums describing the application of ventilation engineering to industry problems. I am frequently at mines conducting audits and troubleshooting systems which provides me with a strong basis from which to compare ventilation and refrigeration designs to what actually is installed, or actually required.
