Most industries suffer from the same affliction: an addiction to improvement that masquerades as progress.I’ve spent more than three decades across business, education, sport, and public institutions watching intelligent people drown in frameworks, metrics, certifications, and optimism while wondering why performance remains stubbornly elusive.The problem is rarely capability. It is orientation. As a Partner at CDI Global, working in international mergers and acquisitions, I’ve seen strategies collapse not from lack of data, but from leaders unwilling to confront what they are actually committed to. Culture eats strategy, yes but self-deception devours both.In addition to boardrooms, and before classrooms, there was the golf course an arena with zero tolerance for pretending. As a teaching professional at Stratton Golf University, I worked with thousands of golfers and learned something that applies everywhere else: improvement is not additive. It is subtractive. What looks like learning is often just interference acquiring vocabulary.That insight now informs my work with executives, entrepreneurs, educators, and athletes. I don’t coach behavior. I don’t sell confidence. I don’t optimize people.I help remove what’s in the way. My background spans leadership, finance, entrepreneurship, and performance psychology (Ph.D, MBA, Cornell & University of Miami finance credentials). I’ve taught at the university level, served as a Fellow at the Institute for Achievement and Learning, and contributed to innovation initiatives at institutions including the Watson Institute, UNC Asheville, Palm Beach State College, and Stetson University. In parallel with this work, I write extensively on coaching, leadership, golf, and the cultural machinery surrounding performance including critical essays on modern coaching myths and unvarnished golf equipment reviews that favor function over hype. The through line is the same: separating what works from what merely sounds persuasive. But credentials don’t produce clarity. Awareness does. Across every domain business, golf, education the question remains the same:What becomes possible when we stop trying to improve people and instead allow them to see clearly?
