My career for life (retirement is overrated) is as a real estate professional. The reward in helping people through the biggest financial transaction of their life is a means unto itself. My preparation for this career includes some decades in leading teams of pros in radio clusters in Illinois, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina. Radio was an entertainment medium and an advertising medium to its large audiences. It was very entrepreneurial and creativity was key. Post radio my wife and I renovated dozens of homes in the Wilmington area and the love of real estate grew. I obtained my real estate license in 2019 serving our business and choice independent clients as well. I've transitioned to full time brokerage for others to be in the position of helping people stay calm through a very stressful time of buying or selling real estate. I'm uniquely qualified to advise buyers using renovation loans. I think we can all agree there are few perfect houses out there on the market. Most need some sort of renovation. The reno loan programs are common but they can be a little intimidating. Manage them properly keeps the stress levels low, and the satisfaction high when a client is ready to move into their turnkey home that was renovated to THEIR tastes. This process done right, allows buyers to put down as little at 3%, yet on move-in day their After Renovated Value could show they have 10% equity - not to mention a beautiful personally renovated home to their tastes. Now that is it's own reward!
