About Brian Schonbeck

TL;DR Raised in Bangkok, pursued a law degree, founded and grew a $100MM annual revenue renewable energy company, then merged with three other companies to found the largest employee-owned solar company in the world. I’m just getting started. — As a child, I lived in Bangkok, Thailand. I returned to the U.S. for High School in Utah. I’m a proud Pleasant Grove High alumnus. After high school, I attended Dixie State University and Utah Valley University, pursuing a Juris Doctor degree. I had a passion for academics with an emphasis on Constitutional Law. During my sophomore year, I was recruited to sales for Vivint. A summer job selling security door-to-door turned into six years as a sales representative and sales manager. Then I felt the call to clean, renewable energy. At Alta Ray solar back in Pleasant Grove, I built the Inside Sales function from scratch and refined the extant Lead Gen practice. This initial success in solar inspired me to make a more significant impact in renewables. In 2018 I Co-Founded Atlantic Key Energy in Orlando, Florida. We focused on residential solar systems and home improvement. Over the next three years, we grew sales and installation to exceed $100MM in top-line revenue. In 2021 we merged with three other top regional solar providers to found Lumio, an instant Top-Five U.S. Residential Solar company with operations in 7 states, comprising 25 offices, with over teammates. I’m passionate about people, operational excellence, realized ARR, and ever-growing EBITDA.
