Brian helps companies by providing a proactive, unified corporate governance and risk management framework to achieve meaningful change, reduce costs and implement an early effective warning system. This involves bringing together a set of end-to-end solutions to assist companies with optimizing and integrating their risk and control frameworks to build cross-functional alliances across the lines of defense. With over 35 years of experience, Brian has a diverse background with deep corporate governance, risk management and internal audit experiences and capabilities, including consulting and corporate leadership roles as Chief Audit Executive, Compliance Officer and member of Risk Oversight Committee. He has a proven track record of helping companies think through their governance components, emerging and future risks and providing with the right, tailored solutions to address those risks and concerns. Brian has worked with companies across sectors, including financial services, industrial products, consumer products, and healthcare. Schwartz is the primary author of PwC's annual risk management study and publication,"Risk in Review". Brian received a BS in finance from the University of Baltimore, holds a MBA from Western New England University, and has completed executive education at The Wharton School. He holds several professional certifications in risk management and internal audit. Schwartz also sits on the Board at the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore. Schwartz is an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University where he helped develop their chief risk officer certification program. He has been published in several risk management and audit publications, and is a frequent speaker at national conferences and offsite board retreats on the topic of risk management, internal controls and other governance topics.
