I practice in insurance law, building & construction (disputes) and general commercial litigation. I have managed litigation across a range of jurisdictions and states, constantly striving for and achieving successful results for clients in numerous reported and unreported matters. I have acted for major insurers, self-insurers and corporations, and have particular expertise in the following areas: • Building & construction litigation - particularly home warranty insurance (claims and recoveries); • Complex property damage claims and recoveries; • Motor litigation (recoveries and defence); • Matters involving insurance fraud; • Life Insurance; • Dual insurance; • Subrogated recoveries, including against developers, engineers, architects and certifiers; • Indemnity disputes; • Recoveries under deeds of indemnity and guarantees; • Policy coverage and construction; • Workers compensation claims and recoveries, including defence of work injury damages claims; and • Commercial litigation. I have extensive experience in dispute resolution, having acted in many mediations, conciliations, compulsory conferences and other alternate dispute resolution mechanisms. When required, I have substantial experience litigating matters to hearing across a range of jurisdictions. I have presented a number of papers to insurers and self-insurers and run training seminars, addressing insurance law and building & construction law topics.
