About Brian Stapleton

Brian is a native of County Limerick, Ireland, his first introduction to Aviation started with the Shannon Aerospace Greenfield MRO project (a JV company of Guinness Peat Aviation, Lufthansa & Swissair), in 1990. He has also worked in senior executive roles for Air New Zealand, Ansett Australia, Regional Express Airlines, Periploi Aviation and now at Formidion Aviation. Formidion Aviation is based in Dublin and was established in July 2019 jointly by Brian Rooney and Brian Stapleton. Providing aircraft leasing; aircraft trading and advisory services to airlines and asset owners with a focus on the mid life aircraft from 70 to 140 seat turboprop & jet aircraft. Establishing Periploi Aviation in 2005 was a natural progression for Brian given his worldwide experience as a Human Resources, Change Management and Operations executive in industry. Recognized as both a strategic leader and a can do operations manager he was an integral part of changing airports and ground handling operations to support both commercial and operational outcomes. Brian was one of the founding investors in Regional Express airlines acquired in 2002 and subsequently listed on the ASX in 2005. Brian continues today in coaching, mentoring and where appropriate supporting entrepreneurs with strategic, commercial and financial support to grow their businesses. Brian established the Irish Aviation Leadership Group in Dublin, Ireland and has partnered with the International Airline Transport Association (IATA) to bring nine of their industry conferences to Ireland with the highlight being the the 72nd IATA Annual General Meeting and World Aviation Summit held in Dublin June 2016. Failte Ireland awarded Brian with the Conference Ambassador Recognition Award (CARA) in recognition of his work with IATA.
