About Brian Swope
I am a client-oriented licensed marriage and family therapist who is comfortable working with a diverse population of clients on a range of topics. As an MFT, I also work with individual clients systemically - considering the many other aspects of their lives that affects them: gender & sexuality, race & culture, education, religion, career, etc. etc. Sex therapy is another therapeutic focus in my work. While I do work with a diverse range of clients, I do focus on clients who identify as LGBTQ+, kinky, poly/EMN. Client-oriented means the client is ultimately the expert on themselves and the direction of therapy is determined by working with the client to meet their own goals. Change is a difficult process and requires perspective, seeing different possibilities, and maintaining a level of commitment to explore and stay the course long enough for change to take hold. My training includes a range of therapeutic styles to help shape therapy in a way that works best for my clients.
