About Brian Sykora

A graduate of UCLA School of Engineering, Brian has 38 years Systems Engineering experience in the Defense and Aerospace industry at major defense contractors. Currently 30 years at BAE Systems, Brian develops Flight Control products including Digital Flight Control Computers; Active Pilot Control Sticks; Rate and Acceleration sensors; Flight Control Panels; and Air Data Systems. Brian’s mid-career focused on research and development of RF/Optical sensor based 3D imaging solutions for rotorcraft in degraded visual environments including several flight test campaigns with the US Army, DARPA, and the Air Force Research Lab. Prior to joining BAE Systems Brian developed IFF systems at Teledyne Electronics. Brian is familiar with the full life cycle of Systems Engineering including writing winning proposals, developing safety critical system architectures; managing system requirements; analyzing system safety and hazards; specifying hardware/software/firmware designs; performing system integration, verification and qualification; and providing product support to customers.
