About Brian Watson

I currently serve as the Senior Pastor of Gateway Community Church. I have been in ministry for almost 30 years, as a minister of music, youth pastor and senior church pastor. A second-generation pastor, I am a native of Houston, TX currently working on my Doctorate in Ministry at Kairos University. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, where I worked with children's missions and was a music director of my college gospel choir. I also hold a Master's of Arts Degree in Pastoral Counseling and a Master's in Religious Education from Liberty University. My wife and I, Rolanda, have been married for over 25 years and we have one teenage son. In addition to ministry experience, I am a certified teacher in four areas and I have over 10 years of education experience. I have taught at every level from elementary to high school. I also worked for 2 1/2 years as a social worker. My focus is on empowering others for impacting their world, and that includes leadership development, youth ministry, marriage enhancement and community development. My hobbies are reading, listening to music, watching movies, traveling and participating in various sporting activities.
