Business-savvy RF Bench and Field Apps Engineer turned technical manager, with disciplined technical design/development background. History of work on on low-cost, high-integration radios for consumer products. Our team's focus is Connectivity Hardware development - from architecture, component specs, design integration, production and QA, through the life of the product. My M.O. is to promote a culture of "being in the details" in all aspects of our work, and to develop and maintain tight mutually beneficial relationships with our vendors.The early technical individual contributor part of my career had me developing reference designs for WLAN and WiMax CPE/handset radios. Move to Field Apps at Maxim brings more attention to baseband partnerships and end-customer focus. Ran the HW lab and did all HW apps development for Ozmo's first IC. Went in-depth in wireless systems power amplifier linearization and efficiency optimization at Quantance. Specialties: Expertise in WLAN and WiMAX consumer radio design, from spec to form-factor design; including schematic and PCB design, kitting, contract assembly, bench debug and characterization, FPGA prototypes w/ BB vendor, form-factor designs per ODM specs. Business and technical marketing background as FAE. Technical project, vendor and people mgt. Known for working well cross-functionally.In the last ten years, my focus has been on in-the-details technical management with an increase in scope in technologies and products. Our team is responsible for Connectivity radio integration across the product line, from architecture to EOL. Technologies include WLAN, BT, UWB, NFC and other unreleased technologies. We have a second set of R & Rs now, in addition, to support in-house wireless technology development which can be seen in recent product marketing.When I'm not working, you can find me camping with my two favorite people in the world: my daughter and my wonderful partner. or maybe hiking or biking, maybe with a ham radio in tow.
