About Briana Geraets

I am a current student at the University of South Dakota School of Law and I have experience working for a legislative council's research library where I fulfilled legislative history requests using North Dakota Century Code and prior legislative journals. I helped compile the 2019-2020 North Dakota Blue Book's legislative branch section. I also created the North Dakota 2019 Session's Legislative Journal to be used as a research tool. My bachelor's degree was in English Literature and Pre-Law at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. After graduating with my bachelor's degree and before going to law school, I worked for 6 months in Sioux Falls as a legal assistant completing paperwork for small claims and civil cases and e-filing with South Dakota courts. Between my first and second years of law school I worked in the office of the North Dakota Attorney General in the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division as the 2022 ND Steiger Fellow through the American Bar Association. I primarily worked on legal research and drafting requests, specifically memos, motions, notices, briefs, and proposed orders.
