About Briana Larson

I am Dr. Briana Larson, OD, FCOVD, FAAO, FNORA, founder and clinical director of The Optometry Center for Vision Therapy (OCVT): a vision therapy team comprised of highly credentialed professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality optometric vision therapy services with the patient as the focus of our practice. We specialize in the treatment of visual system disorders that contribute to reading and learning difficulties. I started working as a vision therapist in 2001. I am a developmental optometrist who completed a clinical residency in Vision Therapy Rehabilitation and Pediatric Optometry in 2008, a credential achieved by less than 1% of Optometrists nationwide. In 2010, I was certified and became a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). The American Academy of Optometry (AAO) inducted me as a Fellow of the Academy in 2012. In 2014, the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association inducted me as a Fellow (FNORA). I have the distinction of being the lone practicing optometrist in the state of Texas with this set of credentials. I have a strong compassion for children with special needs. I concentrated my post-doctorate research on the optometric management of children with Autism and ADHD. I often meet and speak with parents, teachers, and other special needs support groups about vision system deficiencies affecting children with special needs. The Texas Optometric Association named me the Austin metro area spokesperson for Children Vision Issues and the InfantSEE Program. My personal belief is that better vision and better learning promises better living.
