About Brianne Coleman

I am a recent graduate of the Business Information Technology program at Red River College, and am seeking a job as a Software Developer/Engineer. In 2023, I completed an 8-month co-op term with Richardson International working as a Software Developer. My time at Richardson gave me experience working on a Dev Ops team and using the Agile methodology. I was part of the team that implemented a new Java component into the company’s internal reporting system, facilitating the integration of a newly acquired company. The variety of tasks that I was assigned gave me the opportunity to work with company databases (creating and updating SQL queries), to update deprecated code (Java, XML, JSON), and work with a variety of file structures. I helped to create, edit, and retire internal company reports that provided a variety of important data to various stakeholders. I began my career doing administrative support, but found myself drawn to the organization of data and streamlining of systems. I decided to encourage these natural inclinations within myself and to take my career in that direction. I enrolled in the Business Information Technology program at Red River College, and confirmed that these are the skills on which I want to build my career. I am grateful for the strong foundation I have gained through Red River College and my work-experience program. I am excited to find a position as a Software Developer/Engineer where I can contribute my skills to a team. The field of technology is so vast and diverse, there will always be more to learn; I look forward to continuing to grow and develop for years to come.
