About Brianne Poole

Started as an HEM/ONC BMT registered nurse at Mayo Clinic. Was chemotherapy certified and provided patient-centered care to all patients. Was active with our Unit Based Team where the nurses would discuss how to improve workflow of the unit, decrease sentinel events, and improve patient outcomes. Attended the Oncology Nurses Society Congress in 2019. Precepted nursing students and new hires orienting to out unit. Was a member of the hospital's mobility committee and communicated committee updates to the unit. Assisted with mobility competency by checking off nurses' understanding how to use the various equipment to improve patient safety. Later worked as telephone triage for Gastroenterology for IBD patient population. Have experience proved patient-centered care to patients, provided clinical care and health information management, engaged in Unit Based Team, sat on committees to help improve patient outcomes, assisted with learning of CPR alongside the Clinical Nurse Educator, created the My Nursing page for the IBD department where policies and resources can be easily accessed. Assisted with creating workflow policies and improved outcomes by 45%. Average response time to patient needs decreased from 24-48 hours to less than 6 hours, improving response times by at least 33%. As a professor at Grand Canyon University, I have experience teaching didactic for Medical-Surgical and Health Assessment classes. Also taught online Nursing Leadership course. Created interactive lectures to include various avenues for education. Assisted with creating and improving exams based on student performances. Assisted with improving course structure by collaborating with fellow professors. Created quizzes and activities to reinforce topics taught in class, and to ensure information was retained by the students. After first semester, improved student engagement and satisfaction by 70%. Meet with students to assist with performance improvement, and provide diverse approaches to education.
