Briar joined Lockton in 2024 as Vice President and Leader. With more than a decade of experience in the insurance industry, Briar’s tailored approached has helped countless midsize to large employers’ lower costs, mitigate risk, and improve their organizational human capital management (HCM) strategy. Prior to joining Lockton, he worked at USI Insurance Services and ADP in various roles supporting organizations with their HCM strategy, employee benefits and total rewards, and commercial risk programs. Briar has a straightforward communication style, a strong commitment to service and stays very active in his local community through multiple charitable organizations. Areas of expertise include: • Leveraging human capital strategy to achieve overarching business goals • Conducting strategic planning sessions with management to develop benefit philosophies and strategies • Reviewing insurance programs for financial soundness, administrative functionality, appropriate contribution levels, and gaps in plan offerings or risk exposure • Assessing market competitiveness and identifying cost drivers to assist employers with employee benefits strategy • Reviewing the feasibility of alternative funding strategies to reduce cost and increase flexibility • Analyzing and negotiating annual insurance program renewals • M&A support for both buy and sell transactions as well as ongoing management and integration of all portfolio companies
