About Briar Wilson

I have spent the last decade honing my skills, building myself up from a Geospatial Apprentice new to the corporate world to a Quality Control Lead who has helped to grow a successful team of over 30 GIS personnel to meet the requirements of a 35 million dollar Maritime government contract. Since I was a child, I have desired to explore unseen lands and make discoveries that could change the dynamics of the world. Through cartography and geospatial analysis, I have satisfied this desire by helping drive better solutions for our customers and creating a safer environment for naval personnel navigating the global nautical environment. My actions as a QC analyst have been integral to our success in acquiring a 35 million dollar contract award in 2024. In addition to the acquisition, as a QC lead, I helped build a team of over 30 individuals to successfully meet the increased requirements of the additional contract awards. I have accomplished this through QC and GIS Production Analyst training and oversight, as well as through the development of automated QC tools that have both helped to lower production time and increase data quality in measurable amounts. Ten years as a subject matter expert in Maritime GIS have allowed me to establish protocols and procedures that boost efficiency and improve data quality, which in turn have allowed my team to be known as an industry leader in Nautical GIS data production. Growth must be constant, and I continually aspire to greater achievements, one of the most recent of which has been my pursuit of an MBA in IT Management. As I grow in the professional realm, I have and will continue to take on leadership responsibilities with the goal of taking on a more management-based role in the near future.
