About Bridget McLaughlin

Species at Risk Biologist, passionate environmentalist, and a part-time potter. I highly enjoy my work as a Species at Risk Biologist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. In this role, I can work collaboratively with colleagues across Canada to find conservation solutions for at-risk aquatic species. I am constantly improving my research, project management, and teamwork skills through the multiple cross-cutting files that I work on. I am an environmentalist through and through. This passion has pushed me to complete two degrees focused on Biology (HBSc) and Environmental Sustainability (MSc). During my studies, I participated in and led multiple environmentally focused research projects and highly enjoyed my time in the field collecting data. I am interested in learning about new opportunities to contribute to a more sustainable future for the next generations. In my spare time, I focus on my art medium of choice, clay! I have been practicing my pottery skills for two years and have begun teaching this craft to beginners at a local studio. This creative outlet is so important to me and I am honoured to teach others the magic of clay and creative expression.
