About Bridget Stringer-Holden

I'm a Vancouver-based writer and editor, working as an associate producer at CBC. From starting a school newspaper in Grade 6 to hosting my own francophone television show for Eastlink in high school, my passion for journalism has always been there. During my undergrad — where I graduated as valedictorian and with the Dean's Award of Excellence in Communication Studies and Business Administration — I worked my way from contributor to News Editor at the school paper and joined a variety of other clubs and associations. After that, I completed my Master of Journalism at UBC. I was vice president of the School of Journalism Student Association and did a variety of internships. My work has been featured on the front page of The Globe and Mail, and in CBC/Radio-Canada, The Georgia Straight, The Vancouver Sun, The National Post, the Edmonton Journal, BCBusiness, Healthline, Western Living, Vancouver Magazine, Coast TV and a variety of student publications, radio stations and podcasts across the country. I received the 2024 Joan Donaldson CBC News Scholarship, the 2024 Pattison Media Equity Scholarship, and was nominated for the Canadian University Press' 2023 Student Journalist of the Year. I'm most passionate about news with an environmental focus, that also amplifies the voices of underrepresented communities. I would love to connect with fellow journalists, or anyone with pitches!
