About Bridgette Barrett

Bridgette has 16+ years experience working with international development partners, government, non-government, private sector, civil society and community-based organizations across Jamaica and the Caribbean. She has worked on several projects for government and non-government agencies with both local and international funders and partners. This has allowed her to gain experience and knowledge working with project teams on various development issues in a participatory, collaborative, practical and solutions-based way. She has extensive experience working directly or indirectly with international development partners and worked on several short to medium term consultancies with World University Service of Canada (WUSC), New Zealand High Commission, Canadian High Commission, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFATD), FHI360, Projects Abroad UK, UNICEF, the Nature Conservancy, Foundation for the Development of Caribbean Children. She has experience working on projects funded by USAID, Global Affairs Canada, Department for International Development (DFID), World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), European Union and Swiss Re. Career Summary- 20 years community development experience - 16 years project management, training and research experience - 12 years grant management experience - Worked in 345 of 783 communities in Jamaica (rural and urban)- Worked with 400+ community based organizations across Jamaica - Comprehensive network and stakeholder analysis and engagement at all levels Bridgette holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution with a concentration in Crisis Management and Community Development, a Master of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with Sociology minor.
