About Bridgette Khoza

I am an Associate economist, currently employed by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). I am a young professional, who is self-driven, motivated and reliable. I hold an Honours Degree in Economics, from the University of Zululand and an advance certificate in emerging markets and country risk analysis from Fordham University. Currently, I am in the capital Market and flow of funds division within the economic statistics and research department of the SARB, responsible for: • Conducting economic analysis and interpretation in accordance with the best international standards and frameworks as prescribed by the IMF and World bank; • Produce quarterly economic reports and other internal management briefings; • Monitoring of economic and financial sector flows in determining the net lending/borrowing exposure in the economy; • Maintain updated and accurate economic and statistical database on an on-going basis; • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including queries and data economic dissemination; Previously, I was a cadet, working with the operational risk manager, as an operational risk analyst, within the Bank supervision department of SARB. The tasks included ensuring regulated entities’ compliance with Basel/SARB requirements in the operational risk scope across the banking sector. Monitoring, assessing and investigating regulatory entities’ exposure to operational risk. Before then, I was an Intern in the National treasury’s budget Office, Expenditure planning. The tasks included supporting different levels of government departments in their expenditure planning processes and budget reform. Gather required inputs from users for the data templates needed to more effectively assess data submissions made by departments, in terms of the PFMA and the guidelines issued by the National Treasury. Assist with the compilation, verification, and finalisation of appropriation bills, adjustments appropriation bills, finance bills, estimates of national expenditure publications.
