About Briella Nelson

I am a recent law school graduate with an interest in real estate and corporate transactional law. My economics background coupled with several years of successful legal training allow to me to understand and empathize with industry concerns while also providing adequate representation to clients. As a prior mortgage sales professional, I moved from entry level to manager within six months of entering the industry. My professional and proactive work ethic, along with my understanding of highly regulated government industries, makes me a great asset to any corporation. The Cali Award I received for the highest grade in my legal writing course, which included legal writing and oral argumentation assignments, exemplifies my communication, research, and analytical skills. The Charlotte Law Edge curriculum afforded me the unique prospect as a law student to not only learn legal theories, but also apply those theories in practical scenarios. The experience I gained as a Law Clerk for Duke Energy Corporation has been invaluable. Not only have I been able to understand the intricacies involved in General Counsel representation, I also took on the role as Student Attorney. I was given great latitude to review contracts, secure and correspond with expert witnesses, and counsel clients on the best scenarios to meet their objectives in particular transactions. I am looking for an opportunity to expand my skill set while assisting my employer in meeting its business objectives.
