About Brigette Kampfe

Science and Education is my passion! Since Fall 2021, I have taught Anatomy & Physiology at North Arkansas College in Harrison Arkansas. Equipping my students with a quality education has helped address the urgent healthcare worker shortage in our community. I consistently improve my teaching methods and online formats to provide quality education in face to face, blended, remote asynchronous, and remote synchronous methods. Outside of teaching, I am an active member of Northark and my community serving on multiple committees, special projects, and volunteering at the local hospital and church. As I continue in my career, my continuous goal is to equip individuals to better the community. Prior to Northark, I completed my PhD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in genetic, cellular, and molecular biology and an emphasis in virology. Our research focused on novel antigens for vaccine development against major pathogens such as Influenza A, Influenza B, and Zika. At UNL, I was the head teaching assistant for all microbiology labs. Before graduate school, I graduated summa cum laude from Bryan College of Health Sciences with a bachelor’s in biomedical sciences. During that time, I worked as a peer-tutor for 6 science classes, a teacher's assistant for 2 classes, and a writing center consultant. With the help of my professor Dr. Amy Knobbe, I was able to research the relationship between bacteria and artificial sweeteners which resulted in a peer-reviewed publication. Before and during college I was able to hold several part time positions including Certified Nursing Assistant, Data Entry, and Receptionist. These jobs allowed me to sample a variety of careers. With that experience I can confidently say that I am committed to education.
