About Brigham Michaelis

Graduated in mechanical engineering with an aerospace emphasis.Currently pursuing MS in computer science.Before starting my current job at SDL, I spent a year and a halfgoing to school for my Master’s degree while working full-time, raising a family, andworking a second part-time tutoring job. I became adept at managing time. Iregularly check my ‘deliverables’ to ensure I stay one step ahead. By prioritizing andbeing proactive, I’ve been able to consistently stay a week ahead in my schoolworkand other areas of my life.As a computer science tutor, I debug student code, findingerrors that they don’t know exist. Technical skills help me find the problem andpeople skills help me do it tactfully. Communication is number one. With it, things run smoothly. Withoutit, nothing gets done. It’s important to see your team members’ strengths, to beappreciative of constructive criticism, and to stay calm under pressure.
