About Brigid Transon
I am an aspiring Global Health professional pursuing my advanced master's in Global Health from the University of Gent. I earned my previous master's in K-12 dance education from Hunter College in New York City. While teaching full-time in public and private schools, I realized that if you want students to learn, they must first be healthy. Students can only focus on their education when their basic needs are met. Working at a school could provide me with opportunities to make small daily impacts, I wanted to transition to create a more significant impact. I possess a multicultural and international academic and professional background. I am from the United States and moving to China to pursue international teaching before moving to Ghent, Belgium, to continue my studies. I believe the only way to bring about change is through creative solutions developed by an interdisciplinary group of individuals. There are more effective ways to solve the global health challenges faced by the world than one size fits all.
