About Brigida Rusconi

Throughout my undergraduate studies and my PhD I have become aware of the importance of combining bioinformatics analyses with functional assays to investigate host-pathogen interactions and disease onset. My post-doctoral mentors were selected accordingly and have allowed me to gain experience in analyzing complex datasets, such as whole genome, 16S, and metabolomics. My analytic skills include both the development of new scripts in python, as well as modifying and combining R packages when needed in Rmd scripts for reproducible transparent analyses. In addition, my extended mentoring environment is providing training in mouse models of gastrointestinal injury, which will be used to validate hypotheses generated from metabolomics and 16S from human samples. I have successfully applied for multiple private and public funding opportunities, while continuing to seek advice for future applications from both peer and more senior mentors.
