CAREER OBJECTIVE & SUMMARY To work within a community setting as a psychotherapist and meditation teacher, to enable me to contribute my skills and experience in embodied presence and the therapeutic process. PROFESSIONAL PROFILE I have 22 years experience in the community services and not for profit sector, and 10 years ago extended into psychotherapy, teaching meditation and training in Focusing oriented practice. The work I have been involved in has included some of the most marginalised communities and key social issues of our time such as delivering frontline mental health support during the covid-19 pandemic, suicide and self harm, people living with a mental illness, sexual and gender diverse communities, people living with HIV, cancer survivors, family violence survivors, the trauma of adverse childhood experiences (ACES), asylum seekers and refugees, the long term unemployed, climate change and eco-distress and gambling harm. Whilst predominantly I have worked in non-government settings, I also have experience in local, state government and corporate roles. My counselling experience includes: agency and private practice settings, face to face and tele-health (inc 24/7, video, phone and chat service delivery), individual and group work, single session / short term models and unlimited therapy covering a range of presenting issues including suicide ideation and self harm, mental, emotional and physical ill health inc complex mental illness, ASD / ADHD, sexual orientation and gender identity, grief & loss, depression & anxiety / panic, relationship issues, existential concerns, addiction (substance & behavioural), offenders and prisoners, complex trauma (relational, developmental & attachment), PTSD, sexual assault, family and intimate partner violence. Teaching experience includes: facilitating introductory and advanced meditation courses (adults and teenagers) and individual learning within a counselling context.
