About Brigitte Mardigras

Shaping policy and understanding the impact of legislation has been a central part of my career. I am a Senior Legislative Analyst at the County of Los Angeles, where I currently support policy development, legislative analysis, and advocacy strategy development. I have developed Federal policy related to national security and technology issues and have led successful State advocacy campaigns on issues including public health and safety.In my previous role, I managed the US Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office’s (now the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Component) legislative affairs program as well as external affairs for the organization. It was in this role, that I helped tell the narrative of a very technical, but important mission to policymakers.Coordination, relationship building, connecting the dots, asking the right questions, and taking initiative have all been key to the success of some of the assignments I’ve worked on. I’m excited about the projects and opportunities that lay ahead.
