About Brigitte Perenyi

I am a Documentary Story Producer, Ethical Storytelling Consultant, and Advocate dedicated to reshaping how stories are told in international development, humanitarian action, non-profit, and INGO communications. With a focus on ethical, participatory, and human-centered storytelling, I collaborate with international media, news agencies, and organizations to create dignified narratives that elevate the voices and rights of the communities they serve. I believe that authentic, collaborative storytelling has the power to influence global development policy, strengthen advocacy campaigns, drive community transformation, and inspire lasting change. Over the past 7+ years, my work has spanned Africa and Europe, producing and directing stories for leading organizations including BBC, World Bank, On Our Radar, Conciliation Resources, and Partners for Change. Beyond production, I design and facilitate storytelling workshops and capacity-building programs at international conferences, universities, and organizations—including Oxfam’s Stories for Change program in South Africa. These sessions equip organizations with practical tools to tell stories that are impactful, sustainable, rights-based, and aligned with community goals. My approach ensures that every story becomes a step toward equity, prosperity, and a more connected world.
