About Brittany Carpenter

With ten years of experience in education, I currently serve as the English Language Arts Department Chair at my campus, where I lead instructional planning and support for my team. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to student achievement, earning some of the district’s highest performance scores—even among populations traditionally labeled as “struggling.” I hold certifications as a 4th–8th grade generalist and ESL educator, and I am passionate about equity and opportunity in education. I believe every student, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves a chance to succeed—and I strive to be that catalyst for change in their lives. In addition to my classroom and leadership experience, I hold two master’s degrees: one in Social and Behavioral Sciences with a specialization in Criminal Justice, and the other in Educational Leadership. My journey into education was inspired by a desire to address societal challenges at the root—by empowering youth through learning. I have been honored as McAllen ISD’s Technology Teacher of the Year and recognized regionally as RGV TABE Teacher of the Year, reflecting my dedication to both innovation and advocacy for bilingual learners.
