About Brittany Hanschen
I was born in Rockhampton and moved to Brisbane after graduating high school with high distinctions in all of my subjects. I am now currently working as a medical receptionist in a medical centre and specialist clinic, where I am able to have genuine experiences with patients and can be a integral part of their health journey. My focus is on creating a friendly and inclusive space for patients from all backgrounds, striving to turn their bad days into good days with smile and warm welcome. I have worked in customer facing roles since I was 15 years old, so I have 7 years of experience under my belt. I balance this with my studies at QUT, where I am undertaking a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, majoring in Human Cell and Molecular Biology as my interest is in human genetics. In my spare time, I like to travel, read and volunteer. I have recently attended volunteer events for Dementia Australia and Cancer Council Queensland. I am only starting out on my volunteering journey and am thoroughly enjoying giving back to the community. I also like to participate in events such as STEPtember, MS Readathon and Dry July to not only challenge myself, but support these charities.
