About Britten Traughber

Britten Traughber is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work addresses community, identity and fringe pockets of American culture. Britten is a graduate of Bennington College (BA) and Illinois State University (MFA- Photography). Her work has been shown, published and collected throughout the United States and Europe. She currently works as the Event Specialist at the Tucson Museum of Art, combining years of wedding industry experience and event production knowledge with her love of fine arts. After traveling the world and living in many exotic locations, Tucson is by far her favorite city to date. She is greatly inspired by the cultures, landscapes and people of the Sonoran Desert. Britten is a co-founder of BorderLens Southwest, a photography collective focusing on education, exhibitions and cultural exchange between lens-based Women artists living in proximity of the US/Mexico Border. She has taught courses in Photography and Performance Art at Illinois State University, University of Hawaii-Hilo, Illinois Central College, Millikin University and continues to be an active mentor to Fine Art photographers of all levels.
