Brittney Dear is the award-winning author of two novels and one collection of short stories and creative nonfiction, all of which she self-published by 21. She is passionate about words and the power with which they can move people through the stories we all share. She currently serves as a book editor and freelance content marketing health writer. She specializes in the topics of psychology, health, wellness, nutrition, mindfulness, minimalism, travel, books, storytelling, pets, and more. Brittney graduated from the University of North Texas with a double major in Psychology and English, with an emphasis in Creative Writing, in May 2022. While at UNT, she served as Student Editorial Assistant and later Student Communications Content Creator for UNT's University Brand Strategy and Communications, where she wrote a variety of content for both the alumni and research magazines, helped manage web content, and managed the weekly student newsletter that was sent out to subscribers. After college, Brittney worked as the Communications Coordinator for the award-winning, master-planned community of Windsong Ranch, where she managed the residential social media platforms, organized the weekly residential newsletter, and provided reliable communication to residents and prospective buyers alike. Following this, she served as Content Specialist for Roots Food Group, helping them in their mission of combating chronic illness through accessible, whole nutrition and spreading the powerful truth that Food Is Medicine. Brittney managed and developed strategies for their social media platforms, which span across four separate entities. Her responsibilities included designing visuals, copywriting, photographing, videoing, reporting, and more. She also oversaw the Rfoodx blog and monthly internal newsletter. Additionally, she supported marketing materials through various other mediums with her skills in writing, proofreading, and a keen eye for efficient communication. In her free time, besides writing, Brittney is either reading, running, spending time with her cat, Tots, or finding the next creative endeavor to partake in. In 2022, she ran her first marathon and is preparing to train for her next. In all areas of her life, she strives to continuously grow and work toward a greater goal.
