I'm a medical professional with 9 years of experience working in healthcare. I've held a variety of positions including Medical Receptionist, Medical Records Representative, Insurance Verification Specialist and Physical Therapy Technician. I was most recently employed at Belfield Physical Therapy in Mechanicsville as their sole front office receptionist. Unfortunately, the owners decided to close the practice due to lack of business, letting the employees go. I consider myself to be a reliable, hard working employee who truly cares for the patients. I enjoy helping people. It is my wish to help an office function efficiently, while providing excellent patient care. In addition to my work in the medical field, I have a bachelors in Communication Arts and Design with a concentration in Illustration. I graduated cum laude in 2003 and received a scholarship to attend The Illustration Academy. There I had the opportunity to work with some of the top illustrators in the industry. Since then, my freelance commissions have been published nationally numerous times. I even had the opportunity to work on a couple of movie productions! Examples include: interior art for "Fact Fiction and Folklore in Harry Potters World" by George Beahm, cover art for "The Truth about Medium" by William Simon and Gary Schwartz, design work for the cast and crew of "The New World" starring Colin Farrell, and prop art for the HBO miniseries "John Adams" directed by Tom Hanks. Though I work in two entirely different fields, I have a passion for each. There have been times I've been able to incorporate both, such as marketing for the companies I've worked for. I believe it is important to keep an open mind when it comes to business because you never know which path will lead you to success until you give it a try.
