About Brock McLean

I'm a former professional athlete, whose career spanned 11 years in the Australian Football League, playing 157 games for Melbourne and Carlton. Toward the end of my career, I developed an interest in equity capital markets and successfully studied in obtaining my RG146 in managed investments, securities and derivatives.Post career, I began studying a bachelor of finance at Latrobe University, before transferring to Melbourne University to study commerce, where I eventually deferred to focus on vocation and business opportunities. I have worked as an equities analyst, corporate advisor and partnerships manager, getting a breadth of experience across the investment landscape. Most recently, after taking some time off from work to focus solely on my health and wellbeing, I've become quite a vocal proponent and ambassador in the mental health space, given my struggles and lived experience with a number of underlying psychiatric conditions for over 10 years. It was around 2018 that I started reading about the therapeutic potential of psychedelics and have now found my new passion project, working for an early stage start-up in the psychedelic sector. After connecting with so many people with stories similar to mine, I am inspired to be a part of the paradigm shift in how society and medicine look to treat mental illness.
