About Brona Pinnolis

Most recently, I served an integral role in helping develop and implement crime reduction strategies in Memphis/Shelby County, TN. I worked with various governmental, private, social service, and religious groups throughout the area to engage in collective impact and break down so-called silos in the work being conducted in crime reduction. The approach focuses attention on gangs and youth violence, domestic violence, blight, recidivism of convicted felons, employment options for those emerging from prison, and increased community engagement across all areas. I helped maintain focus on Commission priorities as we implemented various strategies of the Safe Community Plan, our third five-year strategic plan. I also served as the local liaison to the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Additionally, I facilitated discussions among various local agencies and organizations to help them break through territoriality and other impediments blocking progress.
